The Global Virtual Reality Association (GVRA) aims at promoting a wider public awareness of the VR technologies, supporting research and exchanging experience. The Association has issued a manifesto in which expressed its firm belief that virtual reality will soon affect many aspects of human life, becoming an integral part of the most important social institutes, such as education and medical care (the document can be found at gvra.com). However, bringing together such mighty corporations as Sony, Oculus и Acer, the Association failed to attract Microsoft and a famous VR-helmet developer Valve.
Some people tie up the reluctance of Microsoft to join the alliance with its own VR-product HoloLens that has admittedly occupied its own niche on the market. However, some GVRA members already have their own experience of dealing with VR technologies: Samsung is working on its Gear VR headset, Google and HTC are developing Daydream and Vive respectively.
