Microsoft devours LinkedIn with Brussels blessings

The deal between Microsoft and LinkedIn that resulted in the acquisition of the popular professional network, is finally over. To complete the transaction that started in June 2016, Microsoft had to meet a number of requirements by the European Commission which practically meant for the American giant to give up a number of its monopolistic privileges.

For one thing, the rivals of the new subsidiary will be provided with an access to the Outlook program code, among them the German social network XING. Besides, Microsoft will have to abandon its practice of package software agreements with manufacturers which contravenes the European antimonopoly policies.

Now, however, as all the formalities are settled, both parties are filled with enthusiasm when it comes to future plans. The LinkedIn's representatives say the network will continue bringing together professionals from all over the world with support of Microsoft that will put its assets into the development of its new affiliate.
